Mergers and Acquisitions Associate (M&A)

Location: US, Arlington, VA

Salary: $113,000–$141,525 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead workstreams for live M&A transactions, including financial models, confidential information memoranda, Q&A coordination, consultants, and transaction documentation.
• Build and apply financial and valuation models, including DCF and earnings models, to assess projects and the company.
• Analyze strategic and financial impacts, risks, investments, and potential transactions.
• Coordinate data collection, validation, synthesis, due diligence, and interaction with internal teams, external parties, and advisors.
• Manage junior team members on internal projects and prepare presentations, reports, Investment Committee memos, and recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel financial modeling skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Detailed understanding of financial statement mechanics and business valuation theory.
• Proficiency with financial research tools such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and Thomson One.
