M&A Associate (Energy) (M&A and energy): Executing M&A and equity-led transactions across the EMEA energy sector with an accent on financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and senior-level client materials. What you will do
- Own day-to-day execution workstreams across M&A and equity-led processes, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders.
- Lead and review financial models, DCFs, merger and accretion/dilution analyses, sensitivities, and valuation workstreams.
- Prepare and quality-control pitch books, strategic reviews, management presentations, information memoranda, board materials, and internal approval documents.
- Manage due diligence workstreams and interactions with legal, accounting, and consulting advisers.
- Support senior bankers with client dialogue, strategic analysis, origination angles, transaction positioning, and negotiation readiness.
- Develop insights on EMEA energy and energy-transition markets while mentoring Analysts and interns.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of investment banking experience in M&A or corporate finance advisory at a leading investment bank or top-tier advisory platform.
- Strong live deal execution experience, including workstream leadership and delivery under tight timelines.
- Advanced financial modelling, valuation, accounting, and corporate finance skills.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record and the ability to lead, mentor, and review junior team members.
Nice to have
- Experience in energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, or energy transition.
- Additional European languages.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, Refinitiv, Mergermarket, Infralogic, or similar tools.
- Understanding of energy-sector valuation, including regulated assets, contracted cash flows, and infrastructure-style frameworks.
