Product Quality Engineer (Automotive)

Location: São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo, Brazil. Hybrid role with on-site attendance three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.

What you will do

• Lead quality investigations into warranty issues, voice-of-customer feedback, field data, and incidents from problem definition through containment, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective action.
• Drive the quality agenda in cross-functional program forums, ensuring safety and key quality risks are owned and resolved.
• Analyze warranty, diagnostic, telematics, plant, field-report, and survey data to identify patterns, risks, and priorities.
• Apply Red X, DFSS, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA, control plans, and SPC to deliver sustainable fixes.
• Use AI-enabled tools, copilots, dashboards, and basic machine learning to accelerate issue detection and decision-making.
• Influence Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and other functions while monitoring quality KPIs and corrective-action effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and active CREA registration.
• Experience in quality, product development, field performance, or related work involving customer issues.
• Experience with data analysis and structured problem solving for complex technical or systemic issues.
• Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python/R, or equivalent data tools, including work with large datasets.
• Working knowledge of Red X, DFSS, 8D, FMEA, control plans, and SPC.
• Strong English communication skills required; immigration sponsorship is not available, and the role is not eligible for relocation benefits.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical or data discipline.
• Automotive development or manufacturing experience, including GVDP, GPDP, APQP, launch, validation, or field actions.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts, advanced analytics platforms, or structured problem-solving and OpEx certifications.
• Experience in multi-country or regional environments; Spanish is a plus.
