Expert System Design Engineer - Jundiaí (SP)

Location: Jundiaí, São Paulo, Brazil; hybrid remote/office

What you will do

• Produce concept, basic, and detailed secondary design deliverables for substations and grid connection projects.
• Develop protection and control schematics, AC/DC systems, interface packs, design calculations, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with Protection & Control, Automation, suppliers, customers, and other project stakeholders.
• Lead technical design reviews, provide engineering governance oversight, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Support bids and projects through design safety and hazard reviews, customer clarifications, constructability, and maintainability assessments.
• Improve engineering processes through digital tools, templates, quality initiatives, and new ways of working.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in substation secondary design, electrical design, or control and protection documentation.
• Strong understanding of protection schemes, interlocking, signalling, AC/DC supplies, interfaces, and secondary-system documentation.
• Expertise in Electrical CAD design suites for industrial control panels, protection schemes, or substations.
• Awareness of IEC, ANSI, and British standards, customer specifications, and engineering quality requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to contribute to customer-facing and cross-functional discussions.
