Electrical and Instrument Supervisor

Location: Onsite in Ronkonkoma, New York, USA; scheduled on-call coverage and availability for weekends, nights, outages, and other assigned shifts are required.

Salary: $109,500–$145,700 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead daily, weekly, and monthly electrical and instrumentation maintenance planning, scheduling, execution, and backlog management.
• Supervise non-exempt maintenance personnel, provide daily direction, and support employee development and performance improvement.
• Plan and oversee work involving electrical generation and distribution, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, PLCs, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Develop and measure preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and control labor, repair, and material costs.
• Coordinate priorities, resources, contractors, vendors, Operations, Engineering, and plant leadership, including planned and unplanned outages.
• Lead safety audits, support incident investigations, and serve as backup to the Maintenance Manager when needed.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of power plant maintenance experience.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical generation and distribution systems, instrumentation and controls, PLCs, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience supervising non-exempt employees and coordinating work across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, vendors, and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, job setup, execution, reporting, and backlog management.
• Ability to estimate labor, materials, costs, and timelines and interpret technical manuals and vendor information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; experience with Maximo or a comparable computerized maintenance management system is preferred.
