Construction Services Manager (Construction Materials Testing)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, USA; in-office with the possibility of one remote day per week on a hybrid schedule.

What you will do

• Lead all Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection operations.
• Manage project managers, field and laboratory supervisors, dispatch personnel, technicians, and special inspectors.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, profitability, staffing, workload distribution, and resource allocation.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, industry standards, and safety requirements.
• Strengthen client relationships, prepare proposals and fee estimates, and support business development and strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, or construction quality assurance services.
• At least 3 years of management, supervisory, or operational leadership experience.
• Project management experience in the construction materials testing or inspection industry.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing, schedules, operational performance, proposals, fee estimates, and materials quantity take-offs.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Nice to have

• Local experience with Utah construction practices, building codes, and industry standards.
• ICC, ACI, NICET, ATTI, WAQTC, or related construction inspection and testing certifications.
• Experience managing large teams across field, laboratory, dispatch, and project management functions.
• Established local construction, engineering, and development relationships.
• Experience in business development, client management, and operational growth.
