Head of Legal Engineering, Spain

Location: Madrid, Spain; office-based five days per week with travel across Spain and Portugal

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Legal Engineering function for Spain and Portugal from the Madrid office.
• Hire Legal Engineers and build a Team Lead management layer with clear decision rights and succession paths.
• Set quality standards, coach performance, and develop future leaders.
• Partner with Go-to-Market and Engagement on priority accounts, pilots, rollouts, adoption, and revenue outcomes.
• Lead selected enterprise engagements by translating legal problems into Legora workflows and reusable playbooks.
• Represent market needs internally and shape Legora’s perspective on AI and legal work in Spain.

Requirements

• Qualified to practise law in Spain with substantial legal, legal-operations, or legal-technology experience.
• Experience building a team, function, market, or operating model from a low base.
• Experience managing and developing strong people, ideally including managers or Team Leads.
• Strong understanding of generative AI and product use cases; software engineering experience is not required.
• Ability to work with senior legal and commercial stakeholders and connect delivery to client value, adoption, usage, and revenue.
• Fluent Spanish and English, based in Madrid and available to work from the office five days per week.

• Background in a leading law firm, in-house legal function, legal operations, legal innovation, professional services, or legal technology.
