Legal Counsel (Intellectual Property)

Location: Milan, Italy; London, UK; Madrid, Spain; Warsaw, Poland, or remote from approved countries. Most days must be spent in the Milan office during the first few months, after which office-based or remote work may be agreed.

Typical annual salary offers range from €66,065 to €107,837 elsewhere in Europe and from £85,797 to £151,436 in London. Exceptionally experienced candidates may receive up to €303,108 elsewhere in Europe or £398,287 in London.

What you will do

• Shape and implement a sustainable intellectual property strategy as the business grows.
• Manage the IP portfolio, including inventions, trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, designs, and database rights across jurisdictions.
• Handle cross-border IP disputes, litigation, and enforcement actions with outside counsel.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology and intellectual property agreements.
• Create scalable legal forms, playbooks, and AI-powered workflows.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and identify opportunities to address business needs.

Requirements

• Law degree and experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel.
• Experience with challenges relevant to intellectual property strategy, portfolio management, agreements, or disputes.
• Proficient English in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong reasoning, structured problem-solving, attention to detail, initiative, and accountability.
• Ability to collaborate openly and support the strongest solution.
• Availability to spend most days in the Milan office during the first few months.
