Chemical Technician II (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Ames, Iowa; Elk Grove Village, Illinois; Romeoville, Illinois; Grand Rapids, Michigan; or Wood Dale, Illinois, United States

Salary: $27.00 USD per hour, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Manufacture bulk solutions, powders, microbiological media, dyes, and other chemical reagents according to work orders and existing formularies.
• Perform production controls and adjust bulk reagents to meet product specifications and quality requirements.
• Release conforming materials to processing, packaging, or stock.
• Operate, maintain, and clean production and laboratory equipment while preventing contamination.
• Follow production schedules and communicate roadblocks to leadership and downstream packaging lines.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, computer, and work order records using LOTS, Oracle, Kanban, and related systems.

Requirements

• One year of completed college chemistry coursework with laboratory experience.
• One year of scientific production, process, or laboratory technician experience, or a Bachelor of Science degree in lieu of experience.
• Ability to work on-site at one of the listed United States locations.
• Ability to safely handle and transport bulk chemicals and operate manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to follow PPE, lockout/tagout, housekeeping, storage, and other safety procedures.
