Sr. NPD Engineer (SPD)

What you will do

• Lead new surge protection device development projects from concept through design freeze, process freeze, validation, and mass production.
• Manage project timing, cost, quality, product trials, process flow, and lessons learned.
• Design overvoltage protection SPD modules according to customer requirements.
• Perform mechanical design using 2D/3D software, injection molding, and housing design principles.
• Analyze BOM, tooling, and manufacturing processes to calculate product cost and assess feasibility.
• Review customer circuit protection designs and develop manufacturable, cost-effective solutions using FMEA and risk analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience; SPD and varistor development experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D design software such as Solid Edge, ProE, or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with injection-molded housing design and GD&T.
• Knowledge of electronic components including varistors, GDTs, inductors, Sidactors, and TCOs.
• Good written and spoken English required. Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate cross-functional teams is also required.

• Experience with Inventor.
• Surge Protection Device and varistor development experience.
