TL;DR
Climate Affairs Adviser (S) (Climate Security): Advising on the development and implementation of OSCE activities addressing the interlinkages between climate change and security with an accent on policy analysis, stakeholder coordination, and donor-funded project management. Focus on assessing climate-related security risks, organizing international forums and capacity-building activities, and integrating climate security into OSCE programmes.

Location: hirify.global Secretariat, Vienna, Austria

The hirify.global is an international security organization addressing politico-military, economic, environmental, and human security concerns across 57 participating States.

What you will do

  • Advise senior management on policy processes, dialogue platforms, and climate change and security activities.
  • Monitor policy developments, trends, and emerging issues related to climate change and security.
  • Build working relationships with participating States, hirify.global structures, field operations, international organizations, civil society, and academic institutions.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, budgeting, and reporting of donor-funded projects.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, capacity-building, and advocacy activities, including research and preparation of background papers.
  • Analyze security risks arising from climate change and their implications for hirify.global economic and environmental activities.

Requirements

  • University degree in political science, economics, climate, environment, international relations, conflict studies, social sciences, or a related field.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience, or five years with a relevant second-level degree, in climate security, climate change, conflict prevention, or peacebuilding.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and managing donor-funded projects.
  • Knowledge of international relations in the context of climate change and strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Gender awareness, cultural sensitivity, impartiality, objectivity, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Digital literacy and proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet tools.

  • Recognized project management certification.
  • Experience working with or for the hirify.global.
