Junior ESG Specialist

Location: Fernitz bei Graz, Austria; flexible hybrid work schedule with occasional travel.

Salary: EUR 3,267 gross per month for full-time employment, with flexibility based on qualifications.

What you will do

• Communicate with suppliers about sustainability topics and ESG requirements.
• Coordinate the collection, maintenance and validation of supplier sustainability data, including energy consumption, renewable electricity and Product Carbon Footprints.
• Maintain supplier data in corporate Life Cycle Assessment software in collaboration with ESG Global and local R&D teams.
• Support supplier sustainability assessments, ESG ratings, corrective actions and due diligence documentation.
• Prepare sustainability reporting inputs, KPIs and responses to customer sustainability requests.
• Improve sustainability processes, templates and reporting tools while supporting new customer requirements and compliance regulations.

Requirements

• University or University of Applied Sciences degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Lifecycle Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and an interest in sustainability, product sustainability and decarbonization.
• Technical and environmental data affinity, with very good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Structured, proactive and solution-oriented working style with strong collaboration skills across international teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Internship, student position or junior experience in sustainability, environmental management, engineering, ESG or consulting.
• Experience with sustainability reporting, data analysis or project management.
• Knowledge of carbon footprint calculation using the GHG Protocol or ISO 14067 and energy data management.
• Power BI experience.
