Backend Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Remote or New York City office

hirify.global builds a coordination platform for client operations, including operational records, approvals, ownership models, and automation infrastructure.

What you will do

• Design and build the core platform for operational records, approval flows, ownership models, and data infrastructure.
• Develop reliable, observable, and safe-to-change multi-tenant infrastructure.
• Own deployment architecture across cloud, VPC, and local client environments while honoring data residency requirements.
• Build platform primitives used by automation and forward-deployed teams to assemble client systems.
• Set reliability standards for the platform and the services built on it.

Requirements

• Strong backend and infrastructure fundamentals, including data modeling, APIs, queues, and observability.
• Sound judgment regarding reliability and system failure modes.
• Comfort with TypeScript and Node, plus end-to-end service ownership.
• Ability to design for client environments, data residency requirements, and legacy systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS or platform engineering.
• Deep Postgres experience, RLS, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience running workloads across cloud, VPC, and on-premises environments.
