TL;DR
Forward Deployed Engineer (Python, AI/ML, Generative AI): Building and deploying production-ready AI-powered applications and services for customer environments with an accent on Python application engineering, LLM integration, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud platforms. Focus on designing solution architectures, orchestrating AI agents and workflows, and translating complex customer requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Location: Costa Rica; fully remote role

What you will do
- Partner directly with customers to understand complex business and technical challenges.
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable production applications and services.
- Integrate AI/ML, large language models, and Generative AI into real-world applications and existing technology ecosystems.
- Design and integrate APIs, distributed systems, third-party services, and enterprise platforms.
- Develop AI workflows, agent orchestration, tool calling, and agentic architectures.
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders, product teams, and engineers throughout the solution lifecycle.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production-ready applications and services.
- Application engineering experience covering software design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML capabilities, LLMs, and Generative AI into applications.
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, solution architecture, and scalable technical decisions.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, plus proficiency in TypeScript and modern application frameworks.
- Strong customer-facing, consulting, problem-solving, and business-to-technical translation skills.
Nice to have
- Experience delivering solutions directly within customer environments.
- Experience with RAG, AI agents, multi-agent systems, MLOps, model deployment, or AI observability.
- Consulting, professional services, solutions engineering, prototyping, or proof-of-concept experience.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms, vector databases, and AI infrastructure.
