Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote in Europe; optional office attendance in Oslo or an on-demand co-working pass.

What you will do

• Lead the team building the software layer for connecting and optimizing EVs, chargers, solar systems, and batteries.
• Own the team's technical vision and partner with Product on an ambitious roadmap.
• Shape strategy, product bets, and technical direction with the CTO and engineering leadership team.
• Drive practical AI adoption across development, delivery, and operations.
• Hire, coach, grow, and empower engineers through clear expectations and meaningful ownership.
• Build trusted relationships and provide direct, constructive feedback across Engineering, Product, and leadership.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineers.
• Experience leading remote and distributed teams.
• Experience building AI products that contributed meaningfully to team success.
• Ability to shape decisions beyond the immediate team at the engineering-leadership level.
• Strong judgment when choosing between simple and complex technical solutions, with evidence-driven decision-making.
• Genuine interest in the energy transition and proactive, high-standard people leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience working across substantially different environments or company stages.
• Interest in a player-coach role as well as a fully management-focused position.
