What you will do

• Manage and grow a high-performing engineering team through coaching, feedback, and career development.
• Drive technical execution for product and platform initiatives, ensuring reliable, high-quality systems.
• Participate in architecture reviews, write production code when needed, and support critical technical decisions.
• Partner with Product, AI, and Operations to define roadmaps, clarify requirements, and align priorities.
• Improve engineering processes, rituals, and on-call practices while creating clarity around goals and trade-offs.
• Help scale the engineering organization through hiring and onboarding, including building a new Customer Support product team.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years in engineering leadership or people management.
• Strong technical foundation in distributed systems and backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
• Experience leading teams in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with team leadership and execution oversight.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, plus the ability to break down ambiguous projects into deliverable milestones.
• Comfort working in a hybrid capacity from the San Francisco office.
