Engineering Manager

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom or Zagreb, Croatia

What you will do

• Lead a product engineering team responsible for scalable systems and customer impact.
• Align business objectives, technical delivery, and the product roadmap in partnership with the Product Manager.
• Guide planning, execution, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, feedback, retention, and long-term team development.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and the CTO on engineering culture, technical direction, and organisational effectiveness.
• Help build and continuously improve a high-quality API product through fast, iterative delivery.

Requirements

• Fully proficient English, written and spoken, is required.
• Strong ownership, product thinking, and focus on customer problems and team health.
• Experience hiring, organising, developing, and mentoring engineering teams.
• Ability to optimise development processes without sacrificing quality and to work effectively in distributed, asynchronous environments.
• Knowledge of several programming languages; the current codebase primarily uses Go and TypeScript.
• Willingness to learn or experience operating large-scale microservices in high-load and growth environments.

• Experience scaling and operating large-scale systems.
• Experience with modern technologies such as LLMs and AI agents.
