Engineering Leader (AI)

Building a proactive AI assistant for everyday users that supports conversations, errands, organization, and workflows with minimal prompting.

What you will do

• Define the long-term architecture for AI systems, infrastructure, and the developer platform.
• Guide technical decisions across model integration, data pipelines, distributed systems, and product architecture.
• Translate product direction into technical execution and structure engineering workstreams.
• Establish engineering culture, development practices, technical standards, and hiring processes.
• Build and scale engineering teams across talent hubs including China and the US.
• Coordinate with product, research, and leadership teams to resolve cross-team technical and execution challenges.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in system architecture, large-scale systems, and distributed architecture.
• Ability to reason clearly about complex systems and make pragmatic technical decisions.
• Experience building or leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong judgment regarding technical trade-offs and engineering priorities.
• Comfort operating in early-stage environments with high ambiguity.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to align teams.
