Technical Lead Manager of Product Engineering (AI Healthcare)

Location: San Francisco, United States; remote-friendly culture with a San Francisco HQ.

Salary: $265,000–$325,000 per year, exclusive of equity.

What you will do

• Grow the product engineering organization from 5 to 10+ engineers through hiring, onboarding, and development of strong individual contributors.
• Design autonomous engineering pods with clear charters, ownership areas, rituals, and delivery processes.
• Lead major customer-facing initiatives that improve clinician efficiency, product quality, performance, and enterprise adoption.
• Coach engineering managers or technical leads and establish feedback and career growth practices.
• Set standards for architecture, code quality, release reliability, data integrity, and consistency across engineering pods.
• Partner with product, design, and clinical subject-matter experts to translate business goals into production-ready systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.
• Experience personally hiring 7+ engineers and building teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Experience building and scaling distributed systems and shipping backend and full-stack features in SaaS environments.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to go deep on architecture and engineering decisions.
• Product-oriented leadership, execution focus, and experience collaborating with product and design.
• Experience building inclusive, feedback-oriented teams with high ownership and engineering maturity.

• Enterprise SaaS or healthtech experience.
• Experience at a high-growth Series B–D startup.
• A personal network of Bay Area engineers or managers.
• Technical thought leadership through talks, blogs, or open-source work.
