Legal Assistant (Immigration Law)

Location: Crawley, West Sussex, United Kingdom; hybrid or flexible arrangements may be discussed. Working hours are 9am–1pm UK time.

What you will do

• Support UK immigration applications, including sponsor licences, work visas, family visas, and settlement applications.
• Draft cover letters, complete Home Office forms, and compile document bundles.
• Respond to enquiries, schedule consultations, and update clients on case progress.
• Gather documentation from employer and individual clients and keep files complete.
• Maintain digital records, manage the firm’s calendar, and support SRA and Home Office compliance.
• Assist with billing, basic invoicing, and general office administration.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a legal or professional office environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in plain, empathetic English.
• Strong reliability, initiative, work ethic, and ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail when reviewing documents and completing forms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, plus willingness to learn case management software and government web portals.
• Availability for part-time work of 20–25 hours per week during 9am–1pm UK hours.
