Service Engineer (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Onsite in Chicago, Illinois, USA; travel up to 25–30%, including international travel.

Salary: $90,300–$112,900 per year

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and resolve failures in construction, quarry, and mining equipment.
• Investigate root causes and determine whether failures result from material or workmanship defects or end-user error.
• Review failure trends and work with the Quality team to develop and implement countermeasures.
• Review and respond to Technical Service Requests to support distribution.
• Process Technical Service Information and forward it to the appropriate manufacturing plant.
• Provide feedback to global manufacturing headquarters on North American equipment trends and product-quality issues.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on field service or shop service experience.
• Trade school education or an associate degree in applied science focused on heavy equipment or agricultural service.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Pivot Tables, reporting tools, graphs, and presentations.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel up to 25–30% and perform physical work around large equipment, including lifting 30–40 lbs.
