What you will do
- Monitor, analyse, and report on the human rights situation of Roma and Sinti across the area, including racism, discrimination, and emerging tensions.
- Draft reports, analyses, briefing papers, memoranda, background materials, talking points, and correspondence on Roma and Sinti rights and related policy processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of programmes and projects under the Action Plan and relevant Ministerial Council Decisions.
- Monitor the impact of legislation and policies and identify effective models supporting inclusion and non-discrimination.
- Coordinate with ODIHR departments, institutions, field operations, international organizations, national authorities, and Roma and pro-Roma civil society organizations.
- Plan and implement meetings, field visits, dialogue events, networking activities, and stakeholder training.
Requirements
- Second-level university degree in law, political science, sociology, social science, public administration, international relations, human rights, or a related discipline; a first-level degree plus two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted.
- At least two years of directly related professional experience in human rights, public policy, or a related field; four years with a relevant first-level degree.
- Strong understanding of international human rights institutions and policies concerning minorities, racism, discrimination, equality, and inclusion.
- Experience in human and minority rights, Roma and Sinti issues, or work with other vulnerable groups.
- Excellent oral and written English is essential.
- Gender awareness, sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of another language.
- Experience designing and implementing projects for groups at risk of exclusion or discrimination.
- Experience monitoring human rights or conducting relevant fieldwork, preferably concerning Roma and Sinti.
- Familiarity with national, regional, and international policies addressing Roma and Sinti.
