What you will do
- Ensure compliance with the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework across a health and nutrition project.
- Implement the Environmental and Social Management Framework, Environmental and Social Commitment Plan, Labour Management Procedures, and related management plans.
- Lead SEA/SH prevention and response activities, including staff training, codes of conduct, GBV grievance mechanisms, and survivor-centred referral pathways.
- Monitor labour conditions, occupational health and safety, child labour prevention, and gender-inclusive hiring.
- Implement healthcare waste management requirements and coordinate stakeholder engagement and community consultations.
- Prepare periodic environmental and social monitoring reports for the World Bank and respond to third-party monitoring findings.
Requirements
- Degree in social sciences, gender studies, environmental sciences, public health, law, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in environmental and social or GBV programming in international development, including 4 years on World Bank-financed projects.
- Expertise in the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework, including ESS2, ESS3, ESS4, and ESS10.
- Specialized training in GBV/SEA/SH prevention, survivor-centred approaches, and safe referral mechanisms.
- Experience with healthcare waste management plans and IPC/OHS protocols in health facility settings.
- English is required; fluency in Arabic is preferred. Compliance with IRC Sudan security policies and procedures is required.

- Fluency in Arabic.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
