TL;DR
Protection Officer (Humanitarian Protection): Implementing Protection from Violence programmes in Juba and mobile locations with an accent on civilian self-protection, individual response services, protection monitoring, and community engagement. Location: Juba, South Sudan; approximately 80% travel required
Contract: 12 months

What you will do
- Implement Protection from Violence programmes according to approved plans, policies, tools, and technical guidelines.
- Deliver civilian self-protection programming and individual response services through fixed and mobile modalities.
- Conduct protection monitoring, analysis, advocacy, and community engagement activities.
- Monitor project activities, targets, documentation, and compliance with NRC and donor requirements.
- Prepare regular internal and donor reports and contribute information to protection risk analysis.
- Build working relationships with partner agencies, community leaders, service providers, and protection cluster organisations.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience with Protection activities and programming.
- Experience working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context.
- Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts.
- Understanding of rights and protection issues affecting displacement-affected populations.
- Strong organisational, communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and related office tools.
Nice to have
- Experience conducting community consultations, engagement processes, or participatory assessments.
- Experience working on displacement-related issues.
- Knowledge of English and Arabic.
