Senior AI Engineer

Location: Australia; hybrid arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home per week

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production-grade agentic AI solutions using large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and prompt engineering.
• Create reusable AI services, reference patterns, and technical guardrails for engineering squads.
• Establish evaluation pipelines, observability, reliability measures, and cost controls for AI systems.
• Develop secure REST and GraphQL APIs and integration services connecting AI models with enterprise platforms.
• Assess architecture and system design options, define service boundaries, and provide recommendations on security, scalability, reliability, and cost.
• Implement DevSecOps practices through infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, testing, least-privilege access, input validation, and secrets management.

Requirements

• Significant software engineering experience, including designing, building, and operating AI or large language model systems in production.
• Production experience with AI agents using LangGraph, AWS Strands, AgentCore, Model Context Protocol, and agentic AI patterns.
• Deep AWS experience with services including Bedrock, AgentCore, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB or RDS, SageMaker, ECS, S3, and IAM.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Full-stack engineering capability with TypeScript, Node.js, Python, React, or Next.js.
• Experience with API contracts, authentication patterns such as OAuth, OIDC, JWT, and IAM, AI evaluation, MLOps, observability, CI/CD, automated testing, and security-first engineering.
