Lead Software Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sydney, Australia

What you will do

• Own end-to-end technical delivery within an autonomous squad, from system design through deployment and optimization.
• Lead the technical direction of a key product domain and make architectural decisions.
• Architect and build scalable, reliable, secure SaaS applications using microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Improve engineering excellence through clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure coding.
• Provide technical guidance through peer reviews, design discussions, mentorship, and shared ownership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Strong full-stack expertise with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Front-end experience with Vue.js and Angular.
• Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, plus AWS and cloud-native development.
• Experience with application performance tuning, security best practices, independent execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
