Principal Geotechnical Engineer/Division Manager

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States; in-office. Field-site visits are required as needed.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a new Portland office as General Manager and Principal-in-Charge.
• Oversee division operations, budgets, workload planning, KPIs, and financial performance.
• Provide technical oversight and quality reviews on major geotechnical projects.
• Manage client relationships, contracts, project deliverables, and corrective actions.
• Mentor project managers and technical staff.
• Support business development and manage construction materials testing field and laboratory operations during the initial growth stage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience managing engineering projects and teams.
• 5+ years of experience in the construction materials testing industry.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in geotechnical design software and a valid driver’s license.
