Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Hybrid; must be local to an office in San Diego, Temecula, or Palm Desert, California

Salary: Minimum $125,000 per year, negotiable based on location, skills, certifications, and other position and candidate criteria.

What you will do

• Manage geotechnical investigations for major development and construction projects.
• Supervise and mentor staff engineers and technicians, and train staff in engineering procedures.
• Prepare and present proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and technical reports.
• Interpret laboratory test data for engineering analyses.
• Supervise analyses for foundation design, slope stability, and seismic hazards.
• Review grading and foundation plans and develop an active client base.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or engineering geology.
• 7+ years of experience managing geotechnical aspects of land development and construction projects.
• California Registered Civil Engineer or Professional Engineer license required.
• Strong organization and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and industry peers.

Nice to have

• Geotechnical Engineer (GE) certification.
• Familiarity with Caltrans Standard Specifications.
