College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI IT Control Systems)

What you will do

• Assist vendors with facility and GRE setup for prototype operations, machinery landing, tooling installation, assembly-system debugging, and commissioning.
• Work hands-on with suppliers and engineers to design, modify, customize, install, and test mechanical fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
• Support process characterization, gage R&R, NPI experiments, FAT/SAT buyoff, experimental builds, and development of new manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Perform tooling and gage maintenance, calibration audits, spare management, and prototype build runs.
• Maintain PC deployment records, including operating-system and antivirus versions, IP addresses, and backup information.
• Perform backups, verify data integrity, and support data recovery across Windows, PLC systems, leak testers, vision systems, and offline test equipment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Available for a 5–6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027.
• Apply engineering fundamentals and concepts, perform failure analysis and characterization, and analyze data using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Design components and subsystems using CAD and integrate new designs into existing processes.
• Generate test plans and short-loop test methods and tools for risk assessment.
• Work collaboratively and communicate engineering ideas effectively.
• Use Microsoft Windows and Office, and understand backup and storage systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot PLCs and factory automation hardware and software, including digital I/O, sensors, switches, and motion control.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC ladder programming, basic TCP/IP networking and network infrastructure configuration, and basic security and antivirus configuration and management.

Nice to have

• Machine vision software and hardware experience.
• Ability to read and understand AC/DC schematics.
• Knowledge of Python, C#, or VB.NET.
