Production Manager (HDD Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead daily Finished Goods Quality & Packing operations to meet HDD shipment commitments safely, accurately, and on time.
• Manage on-hold and shippable inventory, including aging control, prioritization, retesting, sorting, rework, and other disposition activities.
• Lead Coordinators, Technicians, and Operators, ensuring training, certification, competency, SOP compliance, and operational performance.
• Own quality objectives, IMS requirements, audit readiness, RBA compliance, and closure of corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Logistics, Process Owners, and downstream HDD operations to resolve shipment and quality risks.
• Act as the technical interface for packaging and cassette partners supporting HDD operations in Thailand, while driving packaging quality and error-proofing improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, including Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of manufacturing or operations experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
• Proficiency with production planning systems such as SAP, MES, or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, people management, analytical, problem-solving, cross-functional communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English required; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience in HDD, semiconductor, electronics, or high-volume precision manufacturing.
• Bahasa Malaysia language skills.
