What you will do
- Lead technicians responsible for manufacturing operations, equipment maintenance, repair, and recovery.
- Own safety, quality, output, cost, scheduling, staffing, and conflict resolution for the assigned production area.
- Manage shift schedules, workstation assignments, rotations, training, certifications, vacations, breaks, overtime, and absence coverage.
- Coordinate with engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve operational, equipment, quality, and security issues.
- Develop tactical and long-term manufacturing strategies, improve factory workflows, and support production ramps.
- Set goals, maintain accountability, develop team capabilities, and drive operational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, sciences, or a related technical discipline; or a relevant master’s degree.
- 2–6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Leadership and technical expertise in equipment reliability, problem-solving, team development, manufacturing excellence, and operational performance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-style environment and manage stress effectively.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Penang, Malaysia, including rotating day/night shifts.
Nice to have
- Experience in manufacturing operations, equipment engineering, quality systems, process control, continuous improvement, or high-volume production.
- Semiconductor assembly or test experience, including production ramp support, equipment qualification, process optimization, and quality management.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, statistical process control, operational excellence, and Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience developing technical talent and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
