Senior Mechanical Engineer (Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Lead and contribute to mechanical engineering design packages from concept through detailed design.
• Define project scopes and develop practical engineering solutions for mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Design pumping stations, treatment facilities, industrial plants, and process systems.
• Develop technical specifications and select suitable equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with construction contractors and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor developing engineers, and contribute to design standardisation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience delivering detailed design projects in infrastructure, industrial, water, resources, or Defence environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards and industry practices.
• Experience working with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, with strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Australian citizenship is required.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Defence Security Clearance and ITAR eligibility is required.

Nice to have

• Hydraulic modelling experience.
• Pipe stress analysis experience.
• Experience with CFD, FATHOM, WaterGEMS, or CAESAR II.
