R&D Mechanical Engineer (Spectroscopy)

What you will do

• Provide mechanical engineering input for the research, design, and development of innovative spectroscopy products.
• Generate concepts, create designs and drawings, perform simulations and calculations, and analyze data.
• Develop test plans, build and test prototypes, refine designs, and transfer products into production.
• Implement minor improvements to existing products and create, test, and deploy engineering solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks within project teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and product support functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
• 5+ years of practical R&D experience, preferably developing high-tech commercial products.
• Experience with sheet metal, injection moulding, and casting manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of ASME GD&T Y14.5 standards and tolerancing; familiarity with Model Based Definition and PMI.
• 3D CAD/CAE experience with Siemens NX, plus FEA, CFD, and FMEA experience.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, time management, initiative, teamwork, and hands-on prototyping skills, including 3D printing.
