Mechanical Engineer (Building Engineering)

Location: Hybrid, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; Australian citizenship is required. Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Develop high-quality, cost-effective mechanical and HVAC designs for projects of varying size, scope, and sector.
• Lead mechanical design and delivery for major client projects.
• Participate in technical reviews and quality control of design calculations and drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contribute to interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers within local and national teams.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, deliverables, and client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Current RPEQ/RPEV and Chartership, or progress toward Chartership.
• At least 4 years of mechanical design experience in a Building Services consultancy, or significant experience as a Senior Mechanical Services Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of technical design-focused HVAC and mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrated experience delivering building projects in Australia or New Zealand.
• Australian citizenship is required; previous or current defence clearance is highly regarded.
