Assistant Test Engineer (Photonics)

Location: Chon Buri, Thailand; on-site work in laboratory and production environments

What you will do

• Perform incoming, in-process, final, burn-in, environmental, and reliability testing of optical transceivers, including SFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP, and CFP products.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot BERTs, optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, TEC controllers, network analyzers, fixtures, jigs, and automated test stations.
• Execute test plans against OEM specifications, MSA standards, and applicable industry requirements.
• Log, analyze, and report test data; identify out-of-specification units and support failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with Test Engineering, Quality, and Production to improve test yield, throughput, and process efficiency.
• Support new product introduction test bring-up and validation, and assist with test scripts in Python, LabVIEW, TCL, or Perl.

Requirements

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Photonics, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience is accepted.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience testing optical transceivers or similar photonic/optoelectronic components in manufacturing or an OEM environment.
• Working knowledge of optical transceiver form factors and MSA specifications.
• Experience with optical and electrical parameters including optical power, wavelength, extinction ratio, sensitivity, jitter, eye diagrams, and BER.
• Ability to read schematics, test procedures, and datasheets, with basic data analysis skills and strong documentation discipline.
• Ability to work on-site in laboratory and production environments, stand for extended periods, handle precision components, and follow ESD and Class 1 laser safety procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with OEM/ODM qualification, PPAP, or First Article processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, TL 9000, or IATF 16949 quality systems.
• Experience testing 100G, 400G, or 800G transceivers.
• Prior cleanroom or ESD-controlled manufacturing experience.
• Laser safety training or certification.
