Boilermaker (Heavy Fabrication)

What you will do

• Perform fabrication and welding, including flux core wire welding to AS1554.4, MIG welding of butt joints to AS9606, and carbon arc back gouging for refurbishment work.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, checking measurements and components against required tolerances.
• Handle and process materials while maintaining safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and environmental standards.
• Follow ISO9001 and hirify.global quality policies and participate in quality audits, training, and continuous improvement activities.
• Work with maintenance and engineering personnel and perform related tasks such as forklift operation, profile cutting, and materials management within training and capabilities.
• Coach and mentor apprentices and junior personnel when required.

Requirements

• Recognised trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication.
• Previous experience in a heavy fabrication environment, preferably working on mining equipment.
• Ability to pass flux core and MIG welding tests to AS1554.4 and AS9606 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, with sound English literacy and numeracy.
• Knowledge of safe working procedures and willingness to work afternoon shifts.
