Mechanical Tradesperson, Afternoon Shift

Location: Old Toongabbie, New South Wales, Australia; onsite afternoon shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm

What you will do

• Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing, inspections, adjustments, commissioning, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and facilities.
• Work with high-tech machinery using hydraulic and pneumatic systems, technical drawings, manuals, and fluid-power circuitry.
• Install new or relocated equipment and support investigations into equipment upgrades and process improvements.
• Diagnose equipment failures, investigate root causes, and provide technical data for equipment diagrams and blueprints.
• Evaluate components, source suitable original or alternative parts, and liaise with suppliers on technical specifications.
• Apply welding, lathe, milling, GMP, 6S, TMP, waste elimination, and lean methodology practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing setting.
• Current and relevant recognized Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry governing fluid-power systems.
• Proficiency with PCs and software tools, including access to the MAINPAC maintenance data system.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following safety, quality, legal, and regulatory requirements.
