Welding Engineer

TL;DR

Welding Engineer (Nuclear): Provide technical oversight for welding activities related to pipework installation at Hinkley Point C with an accent on procedure development, qualification, and quality assurance. Focus on resolving welding defects, implementing new technologies, and ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements.

Location: Onsite in Bridgwater, UK (Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week)

What you will do

• Provide technical oversight and guidance for welding activities on pipework installation.
• Develop, review, and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) including testing and new process implementation.
• Monitor weld quality, investigate defects, and ensure compliance with ITPs and standards.
• Manage materials, consumables, and metallurgy controls for compatibility and traceability.
• Support construction teams with installation issues and oversee welding machinery calibration.
• Promote safety compliance, monitor performance metrics, and liaise with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Expertise in welding engineering, WPS/PQR development, and qualification testing.
• Knowledge of welding codes, standards, materials, and metallurgy.
• Experience with QA/QC, defect analysis, and non-conformance resolution.
• Ability to interpret drawings, weld maps, and provide site technical support.
• Available for onsite work in Bridgwater, UK, Monday-Friday 40 hours/week
