R&D Intern (Polyurethane Adhesive Chemistry)

Location: On-site in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA

Salary: $22–$25 per hour

What you will do

• Develop foundational knowledge of polyurethane adhesive chemistry, raw materials, formulation principles, and structure–property relationships.
• Synthesize polyurethane polymers and prepare adhesive formulations using laboratory reactors and chemical processing equipment.
• Conduct mechanical, physical, analytical, and characterization testing to evaluate strength, adhesion, durability, composition, and material behavior.
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data using statistical methods to identify trends and support formulation development.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow safe laboratory practices.
• Summarize findings and deliver a final presentation with results, learnings, and recommendations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
• Rising junior or senior with coursework in chemistry, materials science, polymers, or related technical subjects.
• Demonstrated interest in laboratory research, materials characterization, data analysis, and hands-on experimental work.
• Ability to work on-site in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA.
