TL;DR
Team Leader - Patternshop (Foundry Pattern Making): Supervising patternshop production operations in a manufacturing facility with an accent on pattern assembly, repair, core making, and production quality. Focus on coordinating shift-based teams, solving operational bottlenecks, applying CAD/CAM and tooling expertise, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Location: On-site in Merlimau, Melaka, Malaysia. Morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Saturday, up to 45 hours per week.

What you will do

  • Supervise and coordinate production workers in patternshop operations.
  • Monitor productivity and optimize workflows to maintain efficient, high-quality output.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members through hands-on guidance.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues and production bottlenecks.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate production schedules with other departments and report progress to management.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in wood-based patternshop operations, including pattern making and core making.
  • Experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Shift Lead in manufacturing, preferably heavy industry.
  • Strong engineering drawing skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and resource management.
  • Proficiency in foundry pattern assembly and repair, including wood, metal, and resin patterns.
  • Knowledge of casting design principles, tolerances, shrinkage allowances, machining processes, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling design.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, with proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
