What you will do
- Process, identify, sort, log, and prepare specimens according to laboratory procedures and acceptance requirements.
- Perform assigned moderate- and high-complexity clinical laboratory testing, primarily using general chemistry methods and laboratory instrumentation.
- Review quality-control data, calibrations, maintenance records, and instrument performance to support reliable results.
- Recognize unexpected results and testing-system issues, troubleshoot instruments, and escalate problems to supervisory or technical personnel.
- Document deviations, investigations, corrective actions, maintenance, quality-control activities, and patient-result records.
- Support preventive maintenance, proficiency testing, training, competency assessment, validation, process improvement, and other assigned laboratory operations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 1 year running and troubleshooting chemistry analyzers.
- Bachelorβs degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or a bachelorβs degree plus a NAACLS-recognized MLS, CLS, or MT certificate.
- Ability to work the assigned 2:30 p.m.β11:00 p.m. schedule on SundayβThursday or TuesdayβSaturday.
- High ability to communicate in English, both written and verbally.
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures, manufacturer instructions, quality-control requirements, safety procedures, and competency restrictions.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, laboratory information systems, or proprietary software.
