What you will do

• Process tissue sections, including grossing, trimming, spawning, embedding, and microtomy at project-specific thicknesses.
• Perform routine H&E staining, glass or film coverslipping, TMA creation and sectioning, and pipetting.
• Perform immunohistochemistry on Dako Autostainer, Dako Omnis, Leica BOND III, and Ventana BenchMark ULTRA platforms.
• Support IHC validations, assay transfers, assay development, and concentration or dilution work.
• Print slides and cassettes, scan digital slides, verify tissue structures and staining characteristics, and monitor project quality control.
• Operate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot tissue processors and other laboratory equipment while following safety and regulatory procedures.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree and 0–2+ years of related experience.
• Histologist (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification from ASCP, or eligibility to obtain HT certification within six months of hire.
• Strong microtomy experience, including obtaining curls at various thicknesses and TMA sectioning.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently.
• Visual acuity, above-average dexterity, and ability to perform moderate walking, standing, sitting, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds while working safely around biological and toxic substances.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or graduation from a certified Histology program or equivalent.
