TL;DR
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Hematology/Oncology - Sarcoma, Full-time, Days (Hematology/Oncology): Providing outpatient care for sarcoma patients, including active-treatment visits, toxicity checks, and post-hospitalization follow-ups, with an accent on comprehensive assessment, treatment management, and patient education. Focus on diagnosing and managing complex health problems, interpreting tests, coordinating care with physicians, and participating in oncology quality improvement and research.

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL; onsite outpatient clinic role with a Monday–Friday schedule of four 10-hour day shifts. No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.

Salary: USD 61–79.67 per hour

What you will do

  • Provide outpatient hematology/oncology care for sarcoma patients receiving active treatment, including toxicity checks and post-hospitalization follow-ups.
  • Conduct health histories, physical examinations, comprehensive patient assessments, and follow-up evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage health problems, provide direct clinical care, and prescribe or order medications, therapies, laboratory tests, imaging, and procedures within clinical privileges.
  • Coordinate care with collaborating physicians and other healthcare professionals, making referrals and serving as a consultant in the area of expertise.
  • Educate patients, families, staff, and external groups on relevant clinical topics.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, mentoring, preceptorship, and continuing education initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited nursing school or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Illinois licensure and applicable APRN or Physician Assistant certification and credentials are required.
  • Credentialing and privileging through the Medical Staff Office.
  • Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Oncology experience as an RN or advanced practice provider is required.
  • Ability to maintain certifications and continuing education required for licensure and privileging.
