Senior LV / Controls Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery of low-voltage electrical distribution and customized control system designs, particularly for transport and water projects.
• Design Motor Control Centres, Local Control Panels, pump control systems, and shore supply control systems with power transfer, interlocking, and sequence logic.
• Perform low-voltage calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and system modelling using industry-standard tools.
• Prepare technical specifications, single-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and functional design specifications.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, SCADA/instrumentation, and process engineers, clients, and contractors.
• Review designs, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Established experience in low-voltage electrical and control system engineering within infrastructure, transport, or water sectors.
• Strong experience with low-voltage distribution, MCC design, LCP layouts, hardwired control schematics, relay logic, and interlocks.
• Hands-on experience with pump control solutions, including duty/standby systems and VFD or soft-starter integration.
• Proficiency with PowerCAD, ETAP, or SKM PowerTools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with CPEng accreditation from Engineers Australia or active eligibility.
• Strong problem-solving, client-facing, scheduling, and budget-management skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PLC/SCADA functional requirements and interfaces between hardware controls and automation systems.
• Building Services electrical design experience.
• Interior or exterior lighting design experience with AGi32 or Dialux.
