Communication and Information Systems Technician

Location: Andover, Hampshire, United Kingdom; predominantly based at a warehouse facility with occasional travel to hirify.global sites and British Army exercises.

What you will do

• Plan and prepare CSS/Excon equipment through packing, configuration, and testing.
• Issue, receive, and maintain communications and information systems equipment.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, including telescopic mast work.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and helpdesk support to field teams.
• Support British Army exercises with equipment setup, teardown, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Instruct users on equipment operation and support occasional extended hours, travel, and weekend work.

Requirements

• Proven IT experience with a good understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft technologies, and networking.
• GCSE grade A–C or equivalent qualifications in mathematics and English.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs, including IPC certification for soldering electrical and electronic assemblies or equivalent.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation, attention to detail, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• Familiarity with safety, compliance, and hazardous material handling requirements.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work in customer environments that may include adverse conditions.

Nice to have

• GCSE, BTEC, or equivalent experience in ICT.
• Forklift operating licence.
• Previous telescopic mast work experience.
