Solution Engineer, Defence - UK (C4I)

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, with hybrid work between the office, home, and customer sites; approximately 50% travel, including domestic and occasional international travel.

What you will do

• Provide remote and on-site technical support to defence customers, including during military exercises.
• Install, configure, test, and support C4I software in customer environments used for training, exercises, testing, and operations.
• Set up and test integrations with coalition systems, sensors, effectors, tactical communications systems, and other equipment.
• Design, implement, and support technical solutions across customer environments.
• Deliver or support technical training for customers, administrators, and end users.
• Provide level 1 and 2 support, troubleshoot software faults, and help deliver projects within scope and schedule.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience delivering software solutions in customer environments.
• Technical background with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, computing, or a relevant discipline preferred.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, Android-based operating systems, Active Directory, database management systems, and XMPP chat.
• Experience with software development technologies such as Java, C#, and JavaScript, plus cloud and on-premises deployments.
• Experience with containerised workloads, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher, as well as network management and software debugging.
• Must have the right to live and work in the UK and meet UK Security Check requirements, with UK SC minimum and DV preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience working with military customers and knowledge of the defence C4I domain.
• Knowledge of military command information systems, tactical radio devices, radio networks, and ITIL.
