Application Engineer (Optoelectronics)

Location: Shanghai, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, China; work is primarily performed at hirify.global offices with travel to customer premises

What you will do

• Support Tier 1 customers in securing design wins and bringing products to market.
• Become an expert in high-speed EML/PD and CW DFB components.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales support by email, phone, and customer visits.
• Analyze customer architectures and requirements and debug complex technical issues.
• Coordinate with Field Applications Engineers on pre-sales activities and successful product launches.
• Collaborate with development, production engineering, quality, sales, and marketing teams on product definition and roadmaps.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Optoelectronics with 10+ years of related experience, or a PhD with 7+ years of related experience.
• Background in optoelectronics, component physics, and technical applications engineering.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for direct customer interaction.
• Ability to support customer products through architecture analysis, troubleshooting, and launch.
• Willingness to work primarily from the Shanghai office and travel to customer premises.
