Senior Engineer, Field Applications (Optical Semiconductors)

Location: Shanghai, China; onsite customer support and willingness to travel required.

What you will do

• Provide local technical support to optical module customers in East China and engage customer management teams as a hirify.global representative.
• Support optical, power, TVS, and communication product applications and promote suitable solutions with customers and internal teams.
• Work with application engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve customer technical and quality issues onsite.
• Review customer schematics and PCB layouts, understand production block diagrams and application opportunities, and support hardware development.
• Work with sales to manage distributors and end customers, drive business growth, and promote adoption of current products.
• Train distributor FAEs and customer engineers on new products.

Requirements

• BSEE or MSEE and 5 years of hardware R&D experience in optical modules or application engineering experience in the related semiconductor industry.
• Knowledge of analog/mixed-signal semiconductors and the fundamentals of optical chips and assembly.
• Experience with high-speed schematics and PCB design, including independent customer schematic and PCB layout reviews.
• Basic knowledge of firmware/GUI execution flows.
• Excellent problem-solving, presentation, communication, customer support, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Discipline, integrity, passion, self-motivation, and a results-driven approach.
• Willingness to travel.

Nice to have

• DSP-related application experience.
• Familiarity with hirify.global products.
• Basic knowledge of IC design, manufacturing, testing, and storage.
• Good knowledge of analog and digital/MCU circuit design.
