FAE - Staff Field Applications Engineer (Digital Power)

Location: Shanghai, China. Full-time position with 25%–50% travel.

What you will do

• Advise clients and implement innovative digital power solutions.
• Apply engineering design skills to reduce client development time and system cost while improving end-product performance.
• Provide hardware, firmware, middleware, and development tool support for assigned clients.
• Use the Client Engagement Process to drive design wins to revenue at target clients.
• Identify key client stakeholders, build consensus for solutions, and provide industry and technology guidance.
• Collaborate with global teams and product divisions to develop sales strategies and provide measurable client feedback and ROI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, such as BSEE or BSCE, with a strong academic track record.
• At least 15 years of experience as a power supply design engineer.
• Electronic design capability covering hardware, firmware, and software architecture; schematic, simulation, layout, CAD tools, testing, and debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
• Microcontroller fundamentals, including C, C++, MCU architecture, interrupt processing, registers, assembly code, ADC, DAC, timers, PWM, DMA, and watchdogs.
• Familiarity with basic protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
• Solid digital processing fundamentals and knowledge of digital filters and compensators.
• Advanced automatic control theory is required.
• Problem-solving ability for complex technical and business challenges, plus strong digital power technical skills.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, presentation, interpersonal influence, networking, ownership, independence, initiative, and workflow-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience using CAN and LIN protocols.
• Experience with digital power design.
• Ability to present personal power supply designs during the interview.
