Electronics Technician III (Electronic Security Systems)

Location: Oceanside, California, United States; onsite field maintenance role

Salary: $38.28 per hour for the California location; the offered rate may vary by work location, skills, experience, contract affordability, and internal parity.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on intrusion detection, access control, and surveillance systems from various manufacturers.
• Maintain and troubleshoot video, card-reader, keypad, radar perimeter-security, PIR, BMS, and mass-notification equipment.
• Work with electronic security systems and utility or control systems for federal customers.
• Test systems, analyze results, and modify equipment or installations to improve performance.
• Recommend solutions to design problems and independently manage trouble cases and preventive-maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least eight years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining electronics, electrical, or communications equipment.
• Experience with operational, maintenance, and team-lead assignments.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Ability to read design drawings and use a multimeter to troubleshoot alarm circuits.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in electronics technology, a two-year civilian technical electronics curriculum, a four-year electronics apprenticeship, military Class A electronics school, or equivalent training.
• Intrusion Detection System experience.
• Network cabling and configuration experience.
• Experience with CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Access Control System equipment.
